In Boothbay
Harbor, ME, a coastal town known for its fishing, shipbuilding, and tourism,
there is an annual festival to celebrate its history.
Events include: the Cod Races, the Blessing of the Fleet, Lobster Trap hauling,
and races running across lobster traps.
Pictured is the crowd-pleasing Cod Race, where participants engage in a foot
race around the downtown area, while wearing foul-weather gear and carrying
two large codfish.
