I have been seriously studying photography independently for six years, but the love for photography has been a passion of mine all my life. I was deeply affected at an early age by the powerful images I discovered in my parent's copy of The Best of LIFE. There I began my appreciation for the abstract, transcendent qualities of photography, especially with the complex grain structure and the inky black shadows that I would later revel in while watching film noir. It should come as no surprise then, that my film of choice is Kodak Tri-X, which was developed in 1954, and has all these characteristics (some consider them detriments). The subject of my photography can be simply stated as that which I feel. I take photographs somewhat in an attempt to share with others the beauty, complexity, and harmony that is all around us, but moreover to learn about the world and my place in it, and to connect with times past.

I have recently settled in Harlem, New York City, after traveling to Zambia, Africa, San Francisco, CA, Athens, OH, Racine, WI, Washington, DC, Ocean City, MD, Crawford Notch, NH, Boothbay Harbor, ME, Philadelphia, PA, and Austin, TX.

In addition to my photography, I collect 16mm films, old photographs, and have been learning how to restore my 1958 Rambler Super Cross Country (with push-button flash-o-matic transmission).
